DIY Natural Deodorant the Actually Works

ORGANIC DEODORANT RECIPE

DIY Natural Deodorant that Actually Works Amazingly Well

Once you start making your own natural deodorant you will never go back - Pit Perfect is what I  call this mix as it is perfect and it works, on men, on women going through menopause or those who have bad odour problems! I have tried, tested and converted many people over the years.

Why make your own deodorant?

Making your own deodorant is not just about saving the planet, it is also about protecting your health! Typical deodorant is harmful to our health as it is full of chemicals that can lead to hormone imbalance, respiratory problems, breast cancer, kidney diseases, allergies and the list goes long, but I am not delving into that, simply ask yourself the question.

Why would I prevent my body from perspiration?

Our bodies are meant to sweat as a way of regulating our body temperature, and it helps our skin filter toxins out of the body, which in turn boosts our immune system. And sweat does not actually smell, it only develops odour when it reaches the skin and connects with bacteria, therefore using oils with antibacterial properties that will neutralize odour! I’m not a doctor or scientist so this is my lay woman explanation to make you question why and see a better way!

This quick 10 minute recipe is made using all-natural ingredients and pure tested grade essential oils. If you haven’t joined our doTERRA Tribe, The Life Switch Co yet, then click here to choose your essential oil starter kit from my online store.

Ingredients

You only need four ingredients to make your own all-natural deodorant because good things are simple and the chances are you have most of these in your press already!

  • ½ cup baking soda

  • ½ cup arrowroot powder

  • 6 tablespoons of solid coconut oil

  • 20 drops of doTERRA essential oils (I love tea tree, lavender, patchouli and bergamot - 5 drops of each. You can use any oils with antibacterial properties and oils that support the skin).

Instructions

  • Mix the baking soda and arrowroot powder together in a big bowl.

  • Blend the coconut oil and essential oils into the powder mixture with a spoon. Mix well until completely smooth.

  • Pour into a clean air-tight jar. I buy my glassware from Essential Oil Supplies Ireland or I up cycle my finished relish jars!

Directions for use:

  1. Apply on dry underarms

  2. Scoop out a pea-sized amount with your finger and apply to underarms.

Tips

  • You can reapply as needed on hot days or when working out.

  • Use less baking soda if you have super sensitive skin.

  • Add beeswax or candelilla wax to this mix if traveling to hot countries as this mixture will melt.

  • The shelf life is 1+ years in an airtight container so I often double this recipe and make a big batch.
