What and How to Cycle Sync
Harnessing the Power of Cycle Syncing: Embrace Your Menstrual Rhythm
As women, we experience the incredible power of our menstrual cycles each month yet the wisdom of how to sync with our cycle to master ourselves and our energy is only coming to light in recent years.
Having suffered horrendously with periods in my teens, acne and an endometriosis diagnosis in my 20’s, I have a lot of substandard experience going down the traditional route, always ending up in “going back on the pill” and taking “prescribed painkillers” and at times I felt defeated.
When I hit 30, I found the doTERRA Essential Oil community and started on a whole new journey of self discovery, natural living and holistic solutions. I am now 5 years pill free and I love not fear my period and I am always learning and want to share more on this.
Cycle syncing for me was a game changer in life and business, particularly as a Manifestor in Human Design who does not have consistent life force energy!
So what the hell is cycle syncing and how do you do it?
Our bodies go through a series of changes throughout our cycle that can influence our energy levels, emotions, and overall well-being.
Cycle syncing is a practice that involves aligning our lifestyle habits with the different phases of our menstrual cycle so we can optimize our physical and emotional health, enhance productivity, and cultivate a deeper connection with our bodies.
Let’s explore the four phases of the menstrual cycle:
Menstrual Phase (Winter) Days 1-7: This phase marks the start of your cycle, characterized by menstruation. It's a time of release, renewal, and introspection. During your period, prioritize rest, self-care, and nourishment. Engage in gentle exercises like yoga or walking, and choose foods that are rich in iron, such as leafy greens and legumes. Embrace this time for reflection and self-compassion. From a work point of view, I do less calls, work in cave mode and focus on reviewing and optimising my business and systems as we are deeply intuitive at this time!
Follicular Phase (Spring) Days 8-13: After menstruation, the follicular phase begins. During this phase, hormones stimulate the development of follicles in the ovaries, leading to the release of an egg. As you enter the follicular phase, your energy begins to rise. Focus on incorporating more whole foods, fresh fruits, and vegetables into your diet. Engage in aerobic exercises like running or dancing to boost circulation and enhance your mood. From a work point of view, your ideas will be buzzing. This is where I get into creative mode and plan content for the month, write posts, come online more, schedule meetings, network, record, design sales pages etc!
Ovulatory Phase (Summer) Days 14-21 The ovulatory phase is when the egg is released from the ovary. It's a time of heightened energy, creativity, and social engagement. During ovulation, your energy peaks, and you feel more social and outgoing. Embrace this time to engage in creative pursuits, connect with loved ones, and try new activities. Consume healthy fats like avocados and nuts to support hormonal balance. From a work point of view, you are fricking MAGNETIC, network, pitch, launch your offers, record content and podcasts, ride this energy wave and allow the magic to happen, harnessing this energy allows you to have content done for your winter phase so you can cosy up and work in your pjs and not have to be “ON”.
Luteal Phase (Autumn) Days 22-28: The luteal phase occurs after ovulation and before menstruation. Hormone levels rise and then decline, preparing the body for a new cycle. This phase can bring a range of emotions and physical symptoms. As you approach your next cycle, the luteal phase brings a mix of emotions and physical changes. Prioritize self-care activities like meditation, journaling, or gentle yoga to reduce stress and promote relaxation. Choose nourishing foods like whole grains, leafy greens, and foods rich in magnesium to support your well-being. From a work point of view, this is a time to get shit done but be mindful not to over do it, priortize, declutter, organise projects, bring things to completion, it’s also a great phase to schedule things and do work that doesn’t require alot of creativity!
So what are all of the benefits?
